Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 made several ADAS systems mandatory for newly type-approved models from July 2022. Since July 2024 they are required on all newly registered vehicles in the EU. They include automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, intelligent speed assistance and drowsiness warning.
